Tosi Gateway Quick Start Guide

Matching your Tosi Gateway with the Key

  1. Power on your Tosi Gateway using the provided power supply and wait for 30 seconds.
  2. Insert the Key into the USB port of the gateway. Wait approx.10 seconds and the matching is complete. You can remove the Key from the USB port.

Set up the gateway

  1. Connect ethernet cable into any of the LAN ports of Tosi gateway and the other end into ethernet port of your computer. Ensure your computer is setup as DHCP client, it will receive IP address from the gateway.
  2. Visit the LAN IP address in your browser to access the management interface of your device. The LAN IP address can be found on the bottom of the gateway.
  3. Log in using the admin account. The password can be found on the bottom of the device.

Connect to the Internet

Tosi gateway needs an active Internet connection to function.

Using Ethernet connection

  1. Connect your Tosi gateway from the WAN port to the Internet with a fixed Ethernet cable.
  2. When the WAN LED is lit on the front plate, the Internet connection is working. If the light is not lit, investigate possible connectivity issues.

Using the cellular modem

If your gateway model supports cellular connectivity ensure you have the SIM card readily available and confirm your data plan is active.

  1. Install the cellular antennas.
  2. Before inserting or removing the SIM card, disconnect the device power supply.
  3. Insert a SIM card. If your gateway model supports dual SIM you may insert both cards.
  4. Select Network > Internal Modem and fill in the APN according to your mobile operator settings. Enter PIN code if necessary. Click Save.

Using the WLAN

If your gateway model supports WiFi connectivity you can configure the WLAN.

  1. Install the WLAN antennas.
  2. Open the service connection to the device and log in with your credentials.
  3. Select Network > WLAN and fill in the WLAN settings
  4. When the WIFI LED is lit on the front plate, the WLAN connection is working.

For best wireless reception position the antennas in orthogonal pattern, i.e. in such a way that they form 90 degrees angle between each other.

Update the gateway software immediately when you are connected to the Internet. Go to Settings > Software update. If there is a software update available you will see  a notification on the user interface. Start the update by clicking the Start software update button.

Open the Key client

To install the Key software, insert the Tosi Key into the USB port of your computer. Installation application should start automatically. If not, browse to the Key using a file browser and run the setup application.

When the Key client user interface opens it shows all gateways matched to the Key and the network devices connected to them. You are ready to access the gateway remotely.
